Happy 4th of July!
Now excuse me as I destroy Kevin's army...

"Treasures" ...

Well... the school year is over for me.

Which means I have no need for 3 car seats in my car anymore.

I decided to take the opportunity to deep clean out my car from the aftermath of 4 kids rotating in and out of my car over the past months.

As a result, I found some interesting things:
  • Sprinkles everywhere from Gingerbread houses at Christmas time
  • A purple sippy cup that once had milk in it (I think)
  • Flight of the Navigator DVD
  • Half eaten gummy candy
AND
  • My ring I had made in Israel that I thought was lost forever over a year ago!!!!

World's quickest Fairy Tale...

It's late... I'm waiting for Zoe so we can watch LOST.
I just got back from putting together a PowerPoint presentation for
someone's homework... and now I know more about Peter Abelard then I ever wanted to.

This week has been full of meetings, studying, kids, and the dentist...
and more to come... as much as I've missed blog world, it's been worth it. ;-)

or you might miss the entire thing)

Stoked Face...

I was bummed this picture turned out blurry,
so I thought I would play with it in PhotoShop to see what I could do...

everyone needs the buddy doing his "stoked face"
to help them through the 3 day weekend ;-)

- This is what happens after he "steals" the whip cream off my drink -

Ooo... bird!

How does one fix an emo 4-year-old who is told
she can't bring her snail home from school?
A quick stop at the Pet Store did its trick.

(and watching Aaron dance to the chirping of the birds was super cute)

Escargot Friday...

You know... someday I will get married and have kids of my own, then I can post their pictures on my blog.
But for now, I couldn't resist again sharing with the world,
the cuteness of my daily buddies and their snail friends.

I hope that's ok Andy and Angela?

Aaron + Fruitbar =

1 second he was happily eating a snack in the car...
the next second he was a snack massacre - It all happened so fast...
I'm still trying to figure out how he got it in his shoes?

Potato Wars...

Now that I have finally recovered from the plague...
I am back to real life as I pick up my "normal" schedule again:

Day 3...

I think Elie is feeling better...

Here we go again...

Well... so much for everything going as planned with me and the kids...

It is currently 4:30 am on Day 2 of kids, and Elie has thrown up twice...

sad to say, this isn't the first time I have watched someone's kids while their parents have been gone, to wake up to them
puking.

I mean, what's the deal? My sole occupation is watching kids...

is there something about the parents being gone that causes the little ones stomachs to revolt?
I just hope Myles stays healthy... and me for that matter...
let the adventures continue...

Me and the Kids...

This afternoon started 4 days of me and these two hooligans hanging out...
Dawn and Tyler are off to the Veil Colorado film festival
to support/see Jud's (Tyler's bro) movie "The Collective" premiering.
I survived afternoon one, kids are in bed, and there's been no tears.

But there's been some fun times already...

And then there was:
-Myles sticking Ice cubes in his bean and cheese burrito because it was too hot
-Me having no clue how to help Elie with her 5th grade math homework (& she's in 4th grade)
-Myles prayer tonight: "I just want to pray that you'll get a boyfriend and get engaged just like Zoe"

A busy day at work...

Lots of people ask me what I do... well... I do many things...
but this is one of my favorite things I do everyday :-)

Be our guest, be our guest...

Conversation between me and Abby on the way home from PreSchool:

Abby: "My name's not
Abby, it's Belle now and Aaron, my baby brother, is Chip!"

Me:
"Who's your mom?"

Abby: "She's Mrs. Pots and my Daddy's the prince!"

Me: "Who can I be then?"

Abby (thinking hard): "Ummm... well, I don't know... I guess you can be the beast!"

I don't know how I feel about that :-(

Everyone's got a Water Buffalo...

Monday through Friday I watch Abby and Aaron. I pick up Abby from preschool everyday and usually her music of choice on the way home is Veggie Tales. The first song to come on is always the Water Buffalo:

"Do YOU have a Water Buffalo?" I asked Abby, being silly.

"NO!" She said, "Well, I do have a little pool in the backyard, but it's really small and there's not too much water in it so it's ok if you fall down in it."

Obviously in her mind "Water Buffalo" is not this:

But some sort of pool or water toy!

Got to love kids :-)

9.10.2007

Why the Banana?

Abby: "Kj, I'm confused."

Kj: "About what?"

Abby: "Bananas."

silence...

Kj: "Um, ok, why?"

Abby: "I just am."

end of conversation!
